IN THE VALE OF AVALON: GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL 1971

イリギス人写真家ポール・ミッソの作品集。70年代初頭にファッション写真からルポルタージュへと転身した作者が1971年、イングランドの大規模野外音楽フェスティバルである「グラストンベリー・フェスティバル」の最初の開催を撮影した未公開のフォトドキュメンタリー。当時女優のジュリー・クリスティのドライバーであったミッソは、映画監督ニコラス・ローグの誘いでグラストンベリー・フェスティバルに参加した。ローグはフェスティバルの映画を作ることを計画し、ミッソはその写真を撮影することになっていた。ミッソの撮影した写真を見て、ミッソがローグ以上にフェスティバルを理解していたと悟ったローグは、映画をお蔵入りにし、ミッソのこれらの写真は公開されることはなかった。これらの写真は時を経て本書に美しくまとめられることとなった。
